Season Points update

Season points table will be added shortly, there’s a few changes that needs to be made to the timing program report printout, and then final edits on the spreadsheet can be made. Once these things are completed it will streamline getting the results printed and audited and will allow me to have final results for both the event and the season posted either the same day of the event or the following day for sure (Depending on how long it takes me to get home after the event and socializing)

 

Special Thanks to Brian Fipps, Roger Knop, Kevin Knop, Chad Rice, Don Wood, and Stephen Sharp for the start of a great season with some awesome courses and very little delays on getting started and setting up on each event! Great Job everyone!

Roger has obtained the “Certificate of Good Standing” and 990-N (Federal Taxes). Brent will need to update the directory. The “Certificate of Good Standing” is done annually, submitted by Treasurer.

The “Charter”, secretary will gather information and RE to sign. BOD to submit to SCCA Nationals.

The Billings event took place and went well.
Discussion among BOD regarding duties for committee chairs. Looking for people who are interested in chair positions.

Shawn – Trophies have been ordered within budget.

Appointed positions by RE: Autocross Chair, Rally Chair, Road Race Chair (Brent look up in by-laws), 9th BOD position (to be approved by BOD)

Roger – Last year the banquet costs was approximately $3,000.
Shawn – Door prizes for the banquet so far: dyno pulls, ceramic coatings, other small items.
Shawn is the liaison for the Mid Div. OKSCCA will not host a MidDiv in 2020.

A person came forward looking for opening up a Chapter in Enid. No contact after initial contact.

Club Race Report:

Roger – A few items regarding Bryce Cornet.

 Bryce has been busy the last 30 days with the SCCA Runoffs and being accepted to participate in the Mazda Road to 24 Shootout later this year.

 On Oct-13, Bryce participated in the SCCA Runoffs @ Virginia International Raceway where he earned the pole position in qualifying during the week. Light rain was anticipated on race day, so the team set the car up for intermediate rain.  Bryce had a comfortable lead through the first portion of the race, then the skies opened and flooded the track. Fighting the setup that was not suited for the heavy rain, he drove his Texas Autosports Formula Mazda to a 4th Place Finish. He did however have the fastest lap of the race. Congratulations Bryce!

 On Oct-31 Bryce was invited to the Mazda Road to 24 Shootout. The Shootout, scheduled for December 3-4 at the Michelin Laurens Proving Grounds in Mountville, South Carolina, will award the winner with a $100,000 scholarship to compete in the 2020 Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup. Bryce is currently seeking sponsors and opportunities in both open-wheel and Sports Car series, so this is a great opportunity for him.

Rally Report:

Rallycross this weekend at Billy Bob’s hosted by NeOkla. The event is near Billings, Ok.

Autocross Report:

Stephen – Event 11 had 60 entries. Overall, great event. Great way to end the season. 

Joint event with NeOkla in Stroud “Turnpike Showdown” 

43 entries that had run with OkScca previously. About 7x total entries. NeOkla is wanting to do more joint events.

Plan to continue “Turnpike Showdown” Potential to include Neosha in the future.

Kevin – Bryce Cornet, a Club Racer from our region, is participating in the 2019 SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Bryce is driving a new Texas Motorsports Formula Mazda car at this event. He will be qualifying during the week (10/8, 10/9, & 10/10), with the Formula Mazda group racing on Sunday the 13th at 4:00 PM EST

Stephen – Event yesterday had 66 timed entries in the morning. An incident occured with damage to a vehicle. WB sent in the incident report to Nationals.

Brent – Possibly putting in the budget next year to get better coolers. 

Next event is Sept 29th. Will need a truck for help with set up.

OK Region  SCCA Board of Directors Member Nomination Meeting and Social
