In the late 90’s, the SCCA regions of Wichita, Oklahoma and Northeast Oklahoma (NeOkla) joined forces to form the Arkansas Valley Race Group (AVRG) in order to combine the strengths of their regions in hosting SCCA Club Racing events at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit (HMRC). AVRG is part of the Mid-West Division (MiDiv) of SCCA.

AVRG typically organizes two events at Hallett every year. This year the dates are:

April 17-18  Hoosier Super Tour – Green Country Grand Prix
July 24-25  BassAckwards Regionals Grand Prix

MiDiv SCCA Time Trials Championship Series

Both events offer something rather unique: the Hoosier Super Tour event is one of few events annually representing two Majors Conferences (Mid-States and Southern) while the BassAckwards Regionals are run counter to regular race direction!

Over the years, we have been enjoying the support of many of you, leading to great on-track competition and off-track camaraderie. But we also miss welcoming those of you who have not been able to attend our events for various reasons. Maybe you are a retired driver or worker, are participating with other clubs or simply didn’t have the time, means or enough interest to come to our events – whatever the reason, the bottom line is: we would like to invite all of you to participate (as volunteer just as much as driver) in our events and enjoy the thrills of Hallett and the hospitality of AVRG!

We especially would love to welcome more open wheel entrants at our 2021 events so we really encourage you big and small bore open wheel racers to give Hallett a(nother) try.

Also, we would like to reach out to those of you who are focusing on competing in the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour. While some Super Tour venues have decades of history with a record book featuring the biggest names in all of motorsport, other sites are top “pro” tracks offering the best quality racing surface and amenities. And certain tracks were included because they are the best “club” courses in the country, where challenging layouts are matched with warm hospitality and a “family feel” to the paddock area. Enter Hallett.

In case you are not familiar with the venue: Hallett Motor Racing Circuit was designed by legendary sports car racer Anatoly “Toly” Arutunoff and opened in 1976. It is a 1.8 miles, 11 turn road-racing course in the rolling Osage Hills of North Eastern Oklahoma and is located 35 miles west of Tulsa, OK. Hallett is one of the most challenging club road courses in the country with over 80 feet of elevation change and a technical layout that offers plenty of run-off with mostly soft tire wall barriers. It is indeed quite the contrast from some of the bigger venues on the 2021 Hoosier Super Tour schedule.

We expect registration for the Hoosier SuperTour – Green Country Grand Prix to open at the end of next month – we will send you the link as soon as it is available.

For those of you competing in the Hoosier Super Tour Lone Star Grand Prix @ Circuit of the Americas next week – good luck! And for all of you: we are excited to welcome you (back) to Hallett in 2021!
